LARGE STANDARD ROBOT GUNS, SCB series

Detail of technical characteristics

COMMON BODY

This series of large guns has been conceived to have a

standard body common to all gun configurations; most

of other components have been standardized too.

ARMS

The arms can have 1,5 mts length and 1mt height, that

makes them ideal for floor and roof subassemblies of

large cars, vans and trucks.

MATERIAL

The arms  and  most of body components  are  made in

light alloy EN-7075, high resistant, easy to machine and

low weight.

MACHINING FROM SOLID PLATES

All components of this series of guns are machined from

plates or blocks, avoiding all castings and their problems.

NO CASTING

This ensures a great robustness, absence of cracks and

long life.

REUSABILITY

Long life is an important factor in the design of the guns:

in fact their life is not any more a function of a car model,

because the gun body and all other standard components

can be re-used for other applications.

84% OF STANDARD COMPONENTS

Only 14% of all components (arms and robot mounting)

are specific to a project.

POLYVALENT STOCK

Keeping in stock some gun bodies, they have the double

function  of  spares and basic units to rapidly make other

guns for a restyling or for other new productions.

BALANCING SYSTEM

Balancing and stop system is made with 2 pneumatic cy-

linders in series operated by a proportional valve allowing

the best sensibility of the system according to the position

in the space that the gun takes at each spot.

WELD FORCE

A proportional valve is also available for the weld cylinder

to calibrate its force at each spot in function of the combi-

nation of thicknesses to be welded.

HANDED

The conception of these guns allows the composition of

LH and RH guns with a minimum quantity of different com-

ponents, that are standard anyway.

WELD CYLINDER

Weld cylinders have all an approach stroke and a weld

stroke, defined according to the needs.

Alternatively, a servo-actuator can be supplied, with a

150mm max. stroke.

SECONDARY CIRCUIT

Contacts areas are silver plated as well as shunt blades

All bus bars are water-cooled.

FIXING

All screws are in stainless steel.

Nord-Lock washers insure self locking of bolts being

submitted to fatigue stress due to heat and vibrations.

Zinc-coated inserts (more than 100 per each gun)

guarantee absence of backlash during operations

of screwing and unscrewing

 KIT to ROBOT

All guns are supplied tested and ready to be installed

on the robots, with a flange made to couple all types

and marks of robots.

MOUNTINGS

Several standard plates allow the composition of

more than 100 different mountings, according to

the way the customer needs to fix the gun to the

robot.

TRANSFORMERS

All transformers are MF with the two main advantages

of  a  low weight  and the absence of secondary induc-

tion losses in weld current

20 WORK DAYS FOR A GUN

Thanks to the above design conception the production

times are enormously reduced as we keep in stock

most of components (all standard ones).

The resting specific components are designed in one

week and manufactured in two.

In urgency a gun can be delivered in 20 work days.

PRODUCTION IN BATCHES

Due to the fact that the % of standard components is

so high and they are produced in batches of 20 units/

time the scale economy so obtained is very sensible

and it is one of the main factors of the success of the-

se guns in the international market.
